Battery won't charge on my Greenworks mower - help!

Hey guys, my Greenworks 40V battery won't charge. I plug it into the charger and the light just stays green, but the battery is dead. It worked fine last week. Any ideas? I'm not very handy with electrical stuff.

First, check the charger connections. Sometimes the contacts get dirty or corroded. Clean them with a little rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. Also, make sure the charger is getting power - try another outlet. If that doesn't work, the battery might be dead. How old is it?

I had a similar issue with my Ryobi. Turned out the charger itself was faulty. If you have a multimeter, check the output voltage of the charger. Should be around 40V. If it's zero, charger is toast. You can sometimes find replacements on eBay for cheap. Good luck!

Also, if the battery has been sitting for a long time without use, it might be deeply discharged. Some chargers won't revive a battery that's too low. You could try a trickle charge with a bench power supply if you have one, but be careful. Honestly, if it's under warranty, just contact Greenworks. Their customer service is pretty good.

Thanks for the tips! I'll try cleaning the contacts first. The battery is about 2 years old, so probably out of warranty. I'll check the charger voltage too. Fingers crossed it's just dirty contacts.
