DeWalt vs Makita for a new lawn mower? Need advice!

So I'm in the market for a new battery-powered lawn mower. I've been a DeWalt guy for years—my whole garage is yellow and black. But I've heard good things about Makita's lawn care line. Anyone have experience with either? I'm leaning DeWalt because of the battery ecosystem, but Makita seems to have more options. What say you?

I've got both brands in my collection (yes, I have a problem). For mowers, Makita's 36V system is a beast. The dual-battery setup gives you serious runtime. But if you're already invested in DeWalt's 20V/60V FlexVolt, stick with that. The FlexVolt mower is no slouch either. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either. But Makita's build quality is top-notch.

I'm still an apprentice but I've used my boss's DeWalt mower and it's pretty sweet. The cut quality is good and it's easy to push. Never tried Makita though. Is Makita really that much better? My boss says DeWalt is for contractors who want stuff that lasts.

I'm a Makita girl through and through. Their lawn care stuff is underrated. The 36V mower has awesome torque and the batteries charge fast. Plus, Makita's customer service is great. But Pete, if you already have DeWalt batteries, it might be cheaper to stay in that ecosystem. Unless you want to start a new collection (wink).

Thanks for the input, everyone. I think I'll go with the DeWalt FlexVolt mower since I already have a few FlexVolt batteries. But Sarah, you're tempting me to try Makita for their trimmer. Maybe I'll diversify. Appreciate the help!
