Hey guys! Was browsing Craigslist and found a Husqvarna 128LD trimmer for $50. The guy says it's barely used. I'm a big Husky fan - my chainsaw is a 455 Rancher and it's a beast. But $50 seems too good to be true for a $180 trimmer. Anyone have experience with this model? Worth the gamble or run away?

Nice find! I've got a 128LD in my collection. It's a solid home owner grade trimmer. For $50, even if it needs a carb clean or a spark plug it's a steal. Just check that the head spins freely and it's not seized. Offer $40 and see if he bites!

I've used that model on jobs before. It's not pro-grade but for a homeowner it's fine. $50 is a great price. One thing - those engines can be finicky with the starting procedure. Make sure you prime it right. I'd say go for it if it's in decent shape. Worse comes to worst you part it out.

Husky? I'm a Milwaukee guy myself but that's a solid deal. Just inspect before you hand over cash. Check for cracks in the plastic, make sure the string head works, and see if it starts cold. Even if it doesn't start, $50 is a good price for a fixer upper. Buy it!

Thanks fellas! I'm gonna go check it out tomorrow. I'll bring some premix and see if it fires up. Between your advice and my gut, I think I'm gonna pull the trigger. I'll report back if I get it. Husky all the way!
