Is this Stalwart 12V deal any good for light yard work?

Just saw this deal for a Stalwart 12V cordless drill and driver set for $52 with free shipping. Seems cheap but I'm not sure if it's worth it for tightening bolts on my mower or assembling a new shed. Anyone have experience with Stalwart tools? Link: [article URL]

Honestly Dave, at that price you're getting what you pay for. Stalwart is a budget brand, fine for occasional use around the house but don't expect it to last through heavy landscaping. Might work for tightening a loose bolt here and there, but for assembly you're better off with a name brand. Just my two cents.

I've used a Stalwart drill before. It's okay for light duty like driving small screws or drilling into softwood. But if you're planning to use it to assemble a shed with lots of screws, the battery might die quick and it won't have the torque. For $52 it's not a total loss, but I'd save up for a brushed DeWalt. Just my opinion.

I agree with Dan. These cheap sets are fine for emergency fixes or small tasks. I keep a no-name drill in my truck just for quick jobs. Just don't expect it to replace your main drill. For $52, if it lasts a year, it's paid for itself. Go for it if you need a spare.

Thanks guys, sounds like it's a decent buy for light use. I'll probably grab one for small jobs and keep my trusty Makita for heavy stuff. Appreciate the advice!
