Found a crazy deal on a Bosch laser measurer - too good to be true?

So I was browsing Facebook Marketplace and found a Bosch GLM 100-25 C for $40. This thing retails for like $150! The listing says 'used once, works great.' I'm tempted to pull the trigger, but I'm worried it might be stolen or broken. Anyone have experience with these? Is it worth the risk?

That's a steal! I've got the same model, love it. Bluetooth connectivity is a game changer for layouts. For $40, even if it has a minor issue, it might be fixable. I'd say go for it, but maybe test it there and then. Ask if you can pop in a battery and check the laser. If it's legit, you snagged a deal!

I'm a bit skeptical of deals that good, Tim. Could be a return that's banged up. But Bosch makes solid stuff. I've had my GLM 50 for years, still accurate. If the seller has good ratings and it's not too far, I'd check it out. Bring a tape measure to verify accuracy. Lasers can get knocked out of calibration if dropped.

Thanks for the tips! The seller seems legit, says they're moving and need to clear stuff out. I'll bring a tape measure and test the laser. Wendy, what do you use the Bluetooth for mostly? I'm a hobbyist woodworker, so I'm thinking layout and marking.

Mainly for transferring measurements to my phone and doing room dimensions quickly. The app logs them, so I don't forget. But for woodworking, the indirect measurement mode is handy for awkward spots. Let us know if you get it!
