Hey guys, I'm working on a deck build and my circular saw keeps stalling mid-cut. It's a DeWalt 7-1/4" worm drive, couple years old. Battery's fully charged but it just stops. Doesn't even bog down, just cuts out. Any thoughts?

If it's cutting out like that, it could be the overload protection tripping. Mine did that when the blade was dull AF. Try a fresh Diablo blade and see if it helps. Also check the brush wear - if they're short, replace 'em.

Could also be the battery contacts. I had a drill that would randomly die - cleaned the contacts with a pencil eraser and it was good as new. Also try another battery if you have one. If it's the saw itself, might be the trigger switch failing.

Good ideas. I'll swap the blade first, it's been through some pressure treated pine. Batteries seem fine in my other tools. If that doesn't work I'll check the brushes. Thanks y'all.

Let us know what it was! I always bet on the blade myself. Don't forget to lube the arbor too - a lil 3-in-1 oil goes a long way.
