Hey all, just wanted to share a quick safety tip. Yesterday I was cutting some tile with a wet saw and a chip flew up. I was wearing my safety glasses but they fogged up so I took them off for a sec. Next thing I know, a piece of tile hits me right under my eye. Cut a nice gash, needed 3 stitches. Could have been my eye. Lesson learned: invest in anti-fog safety glasses or at least keep them clean. Don't be a dummy like me!

Dang Rick, glad you're okay! I've seen too many guys lose eyes. I never skip my PPE, even in the heat. I use these with a foam seal, they don't fog up as much. Also, tie back long hair and watch for loose clothing. Workshop safety is no joke.

Good reminder. I'm just an apprentice and my boss always yells at us to wear our glasses. I heard a story about a guy who got a nail in his eye from a nail gun. Makes me cringe. I'll definitely be more careful. I've got a pair of safety glasses in my truck but I don't always wear them. Not anymore!

I've been in the trades for 30 years and I've seen it all. The worst was a guy who was grinding metal without a face shield. A disc shattered and hit him in the face. He lost an eye. That changed the way I work. I now wear a full face shield for grinding and cutting. There's no excuse - you only got two eyes. Also, make sure your glasses meet ANSI Z87.1 standards. Peace.

Thanks guys. I was always lax about it but won't be anymore. Just ordered three pairs of anti-fog one from that link. Good lookin' out. And yes, Bob, I'll be getting a face shield for my grinder too. Safety first, DIY pals!
