Anyone else wear cut-resistant gloves when using pliers?

I see a lot of guys on job sites just rawdogging it with pliers. After my last run-in with a sharp wire, I won't touch 'em without some cut-resistant gloves. Anyone else have a close call that made you change your ways?

Yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way about 10 years ago. Sliced my hand open on some strapping while pulling it tight with linesmans. Now I wear Mechanix or similar. Also, a good pair of side cutters helps avoid that whole situation altogether.

I've been using leather gloves with nitrile coating for years. They grip better than bare hands on wet pipes and protect against sharp edges. But I still take them off when I need fine control. What brands you guys recommend for cut-resistance?

I go with the MaxiFlex cut level 5. They're thin enough to feel what I'm doing but stop most cuts. Saved my bacon more than once. And yeah, always wear safety glasses too - had a piece of wire snap and fly toward my face once.
