Anyone else wear gloves when using pliers?

I know we're all about saving a buck here, but after a close call last week I gotta ask: does anyone bother with gloves when using pliers? I always thought it was overkill but now I'm rethinking. Got any recommendations for cheap but decent ones?

Gloves are a must, especially with pliers. I've seen too many guys lose a finger or get a nasty pinch. I use Mechanix Wear, they're not too pricey and last a while. Pro tip: get a pair with good grip, especially when handling oily tools.

I only use Klein or Knipex gloves. You get what you pay for, and when it comes to safety, I don't skimp. The cheap ones wear out fast and offer no protection. Invest in quality, you'll thank me later.

Thanks for the input. I'll check out the Mechanix ones, they seem like a good middle ground. Steve861, I hear ya on quality, but I'm on a tight budget. Maybe I'll splurge next time. Appreciate it, fellas.
