DeWalt vs Makita pliers - which one should I get?

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new set of pliers and I'm stuck between DeWalt and Makita. I've been using some old Craftsman ones but they're pretty worn out. I mostly do DIY stuff around the house, furniture building, that kind of thing. Any recommendations? I want something that'll last but won't break the bank.

DeWalt all the way man. I've had my DeWalt pliers for like 5 years and they still grip like new. Makita is good for drills but their hand tools are meh. Plus DeWalt has that yellow and black color scheme that just looks badass in the toolbox. Just my 2 cents.

I do renovations for a living and I've used both. Honestly, for pliers, it depends on what you're doing. DeWalt's are great for general use, but if you're doing a lot of electrical work, Makita's insulated pliers are top notch. The grips on Makita are more comfortable for long periods. But DeWalt's cutting edge stays sharp longer in my experience. If you're just doing DIY, either will serve you well. Check the sales though, sometimes you can get a combo pack.

I gotta disagree on the insulation thing. DeWalt has insulated pliers too and they're just as good. And Makita's grips wear out faster IMO. But yeah, sales are key. I got my set 40% off on Black Friday.

Thanks for the input! I think I'll go with DeWalt since I don't do much electrical work and I like the durability. Plus there's a sale at my local hardware store this weekend. Appreciate the help!
