DeWalt vs Makita Pliers: Which Ones Actually Last?

Alright guys, need some real talk. I'm in the market for a new set of pliers for my everyday carry. I've been a DeWalt guy for years, but my buddy swears by Makita. I'm specifically looking at their 10-inch tongue and groove pliers. Anyone have experience with both? I need something that can handle heavy use without the jaws slipping.

I've got both in my toolbox. Honestly, the Makita's have a slightly better grip design - less hand fatigue on long jobs. But the DeWalt's have a tougher coating, I've dropped them on concrete more times than I can count and they still look new. For pure jaw strength, I'd say they're even. But if you're using them all day, Makita might edge it out. Just my 2 cents.

Don't listen to Tim, he's a closet Makita fanboy. DeWalt pliers are built like tanks. I've had my set for 5 years and they're still as tight as the day I bought them. The locking mechanism on the Makita's seems flimsy to me. Plus, DeWalt's warranty is unbeatable - I broke a pair once and they replaced them no questions asked. Stick with the yellow, Steve.
