Hey guys, quick safety tip I learned the hard way. Was cutting a spring with my linesman pliers and a piece flew up and nearly hit my eye. Now I always wear safety glasses when using pliers, even just gripping. Anyone else have close calls?

Honestly, I don't bother with glasses most of the time for pliers. Seems overkill. But if you're cutting something sketchy like that spring, yeah I could see it. I just use them for twisting wire and stuff mostly.

I always wear safety glasses, period. Even when using pliers, you never know when a bit of metal or dirt will pop off. I had a coworker who lost an eye from a chunk of wire. Not worth the risk. Plus, cheap glasses are like $5.

Alright, Sam got a point. I'll start wearing them when cutting stuff. But just for gripping I'm still gonna skip, unless it's real nasty.

Yeah, I'm with Sparky now. Better safe than sorry. I got a pair of those $10 anti-fog ones and they're great. Thanks for the input guys!
