Hey all, just a quick safety tip: I was using my locking pliers yesterday to grip a stubborn bolt, and the damn thing slipped and gashed my thumb. Went right through my thin cotton gloves. I'm now switching to cut-resistant or leather gloves for any heavy clamping. Don't be like me, wear proper PPE!

Good call Bob. I always use leather rigger gloves when I'm gripping with pliers. Cheap insurance. What kind of pliers were you using? I got a pair of Irwin's that have never slipped, but I still glove up.

I've seen too many guys in the shop skip gloves 'cause they think they'll lose dexterity. But a good pair of mechanics gloves give you plenty of feel. Worth the investment. Also, check your pliers for wear on the jaws – worn teeth slip easier.

Yeah, these were some old Craftsman pliers that have seen better days. Going to retire them and get a new set. And definitely investing in some good cut-resistant gloves. Thanks for the advice!
