Safety First: Do You Wear Gloves When Using Pliers?

Hey everyone, I've been doing a lot of work with pliers lately and I'm starting to wonder about hand protection. Do you guys wear gloves when using pliers? I usually don't, but I've got some nasty calluses and a few cuts from slipping. What's your take?

I never wear gloves when using pliers, but I'm in the garage a lot and my hands are pretty tough. However, for electrical work, I always use insulated gloves. Safety first, especially with live wires. But for general use, I find gloves can reduce grip and feel. Might be worth trying a pair with good grip though.

I'm with Sarah on this one. For most mechanical work, no gloves, but I do use them when dealing with sharp edges or in cold weather. You can get some thin, tight-fitting gloves that offer protection without killing your dexterity. I've used them for automotive work. Also, consider wearing safety glasses - pliers can snap and send metal flying.
