So I just saw this deal for the Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit MX for $121 with free shipping. That's a pretty good price for a 25-function multitool. I've had my Swiss Tool for years and it's held up great. Anyone else think this is a good buy? Or should I wait for a better deal?

Man, Victorinox tools are top notch. I've been using their Swiss Army knives forever, but I've never pulled the trigger on their full-size multitool. $121 seems like a solid price for what you get. Might have to jump on this. How's the plier action on yours, Dave?

I'm new to the whole multitool game. Is Victorinox really that much better than Leatherman or Gerber? Asking because I don't want to blow $121 on something I'll regret. Any advice?

I've owned both Leatherman and Victorinox. The Victorinox is definitely a step up in fit and finish. The tools lock solidly and the steel holds an edge better. For $121, I'd say it's a steal. My only gripe is the pliers don't have replaceable wire cutters like some Leatherman models, but if you're not doing heavy electrical work, you won't miss it.

Exactly what Hank said. The pliers on the Spirit are smooth and precise, maybe not for heavy duty but perfect for most tasks. And the file and saw are actually usable, not just an afterthought. I've had mine for 5 years, and it still looks like new. Go for it, you won't regret it.
