I've had the Spirit MX for about 2 years now. It's my EDC on most jobs. The build quality is top-notch – those Victorinox scales feel solid and the pliers have amazing precision. Sure, it's pricier than a Leatherman, but for $121 it's a steal. The scissors and the wood saw are surprisingly capable. Only downside is the bit driver is a bit finicky with standard bits, but the included bits work fine.

Honestly, I'm a Leatherman guy myself – the Wave+ is my go to. But I've heard the Spirit's pliers are smoother and the file is better. For that price I might grab one as a backup. Anyone know if the screwdriver can handle heavy duty screws? I do a lot of deck building.

I'm a plumber and I've been carrying the Spirit for 6 months. The pliers are great for tight spaces, and the wire cutters are sharp. But I miss having a crimper. The file is decent for deburring pipe. For the price jump on it, it's a solid tool. Just don't expect it to replace dedicated pliers.

@WoodWorkerWill287 The screwdriver is fine for most screws – I've used it on deck screws without issue. Just don't try to torque super tight. The lock mechanism is solid though. Go for it – you won't regret it.
