Hey folks, I'm gonna clean my deck next weekend. It's about 600 sq ft, wood, with some stubborn moss and dirt. I don't wanna rent one, so I'm looking to buy. Budget around $300-400. Any recommendations? I see a lot of electric vs gas debates. I have a standard hose hookup. Thanks!

For that size deck, don't mess with electric. You'll be fighting the hose and the flow. Get a gas unit around 3000 PSI and 2.5 GPM minimum. I like the Simpson Megashot with the Honda engine. It's a bit over your budget but worth it. And get a surface cleaner attachment - it'll save your back and do a better job. Trust me on this, I've tried everything.

I agree with Chris121. I cleaned my shed with a cheap electric and it took forever. Upgraded to a gas one and it was night and day. But if you're set on electric, the Sun Joe SPX3000 is decent for the price. Just don't expect miracles. Also, use a deck cleaning solution first, not just water. Scrubbing with a brush helps too. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! I think I'll save up for the gas one. Chris121, is the surface cleaner a universal fit? I saw some on Amazon but not sure which one to get.

Yeah, most surface cleaners have a standard 1/4" quick connect. Just check the max PSI rating on the cleaner - you don't want it to blow apart. I use a 15" one for my deck, but for 600 sq ft a 18" would be better. Also, watch some YouTube vids on technique - overlap passes and don't stop moving. You'll be golden.
