Hey guys, so I was browsing the clearance section at the local hardware store and spotted a pressure washer marked down big time. It's a 3200 PSI gas model from a brand I've never heard of – 'Tornado Tools' or something. It's normally $500, marked down to $200. I'm tempted to grab it, but I'm not sure if it's a steal or a trap. Anyone have experience with this brand?

I'd be careful with those off-brand units. I've had a couple of customers bring in similar ones for repairs – parts are a pain to find. But for $200, it might be worth a shot if you only need it for occasional home use. Check the warranty and see if you can find review online. If it breaks after a few uses, you're only out $200 vs $500. Just don't expect it to last like a Honda-powered model.

The PSI rating is what it is on paper, but the GPM (gallons per minute) matters just as much for cleaning power. I'd look up the spec sheet. Also, those cheap pumps are often plastic – not repairable. If it's got a brass or other metal pump, it might be worth it. I say if it starts on the first pull and doesn't leak, it's a deal. But I'm picky about my equipment – I'd rather spend more for something that will last.

Thanks for the input guys. I checked the specs – it's 2.5 GPM, which seems decent. The pump is supposedly 'professional-grade' but it's likely aluminum. I think I'm gonna take the plunge. Worst case, I'll return it if it's a POS. I'll report back after I give it a try this weekend. Gotta blast some grime off my driveway!
