PSA: Don't skip the safety glasses when using a pressure washer!

Hey all, just a friendly reminder after almost losing an eye today. Was using my pressure washer to clean the driveway and a piece of debris shot back at me. Lucky I had my safety glasses on, but it got me thinking - who else wears PPE when using these things? I've seen too many people just wear flip flops and squint. Let's share some safety tips, especially for newbies.

Good call Sarah. I always wear a full face shield when using mine, especially when blasting off paint or rust. That stuff flies everywhere. Also, ear protection - those things are loud as hell, especially the gas ones. And don't forget closed-toe boots, not just sneakers. I had a buddy drop a nozzle on his foot - lucky it didn't break anything, but still.

No joke. I've been in the business for 20 years, and I always wear gloves too. The water can cut you if you get too close, and chemicals can burn. I've seen guys get injections from grease fittings - not the same thing but similar. Always read the manual, know the PSI and nozzle angles. And never point it at a person or pet, even as a joke. That's a trip to the ER.

Not me, but I witnessed a guy at a car wash knock himself off his feet with a pressure washer. He was using one of those electric ones with a trigger, and he lost control of the wand. Hit his leg and it looked like a bad abrasion. He was wearing shorts... Darwin award. Anyway, don't be that guy. Respect the tool.
