Best electric razors? Wrong forum, but let's talk rotary tools!

So I saw this article about electric razors and shavers, and I thought, hey, we're all about rotary tools here. But seriously, has anyone tried using a rotary tool for trimming? I mean, I've used my Dremel for everything from cutting tile to polishing, but never on my face. Any thoughts?

Ha! I've used a rotary tool with a sanding drum to file down my calluses. Not exactly for shaving, but it works in a pinch. For actual shaving, I stick to my trusty old safety razor. But if you're brave enough to try a rotary tool on your face, make sure you use the right attachment and go slow. Maybe practice on your arm first!

Whoa, hold on. Safety first! Using a rotary tool on your face is a recipe for disaster. The RPMs are way too high, and you could easily slip and cut yourself badly. Plus, you need to think about the dust and debris - that's not something you want near your eyes or mouth. Stick to dedicated shavers, or at least use a rotary tool with a flex shaft and a very light touch. But seriously, don't do it.

Good point, Larry. I guess I was just joking around. But speaking of rotary tools, I did use my Dremel to engrave my son's name on his tool box last weekend. That was fun. Any other cool rotary tool projects you guys have done?

I used a rotary tool to cut open a stubborn PVC pipe fitting last month. It worked like a charm. Also, I've used it to sharpen my gardening shears. Those little grinding stones are handy. But for shaving, I'll pass!
