Hey guys, I'm torn between the DeWalt DWA4900 and the Makita RT0701C for my home workshop. I do a lot of routing and engraving on wood and soft metals. Any advice on which one has better speed control and durability? I've heard mixed things.

I've got the Makita and it's been a workhorse for me! The variable speed dial is super smooth, and it's surprisingly quiet. DeWalt's is good too but I think Makita has better ergonomics. Have you held them both?

I've used both on the job site. DeWalt's collet system is more robust, IMO, but Makita wins on vibration control. For detail work, go Makita. For heavy-duty grinding, DeWalt. Also check the warranty - DeWalt's 3-year vs Makita's 1-year.

Safety-wise, make sure you're using the right guard and always wear eye pro! Both tools are solid, but I lean DeWalt because of their safety features like the lock-on button placement. Also, DeWalt's dust collection attachment works better I think.
