DeWalt vs Makita Rotary Tools: Which one's better for precision sanding?

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a cordless rotary tool for some detailed sanding and carving work. I'm torn between the DeWalt Dremel-like thing (the one with the brushless motor) and the Makita RT0700C. I've read some reviews but want real-world opinions. Which one has better control at low speeds for precision work?

Go with Makita hands down. I've been using their tools for years, and they never let me down. The RT0700C has that variable speed dial that's super smooth, and it's quiet too. DeWalt is fine for rough stuff, but Makita is the king of precision.

I've used both on job sites. Honestly, for weekend warrior stuff, either will work. But if you want my 2 cents, the DeWalt feels more solid in the hand. I dropped mine off a ladder and it still runs like a champ. Makita is good but the chuck design on DeWalt is easier to change bits quickly.

I'm new to this, so sorry if it's a dumb question. Do these rotary tools come with a case? I want something I can store easily in my garage. Also, which one has better warranty? I don't want to spend a lot if it breaks.

Thanks for the input guys! Bob, both come with a plastic case I think. DeWalt has a 3-year warranty, Makita is 1 year. I'm leaning towards DeWalt now for the warranty and ergonomics. Appreciate it!
