DeWalt vs Makita Rotary: Which One Should I Get?

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new rotary tool. I do a lot of detail work on wood and some light metal engraving. Can't decide between the DeWalt Dremel-like and the Makita. Any advice?

I've had both, and honestly it's about precision. The Makita has a smoother variable speed and the collet seems more precise, but the DeWalt has a better grip for fine control. I'd test them in store if you can.

Don't overlook the price! The DeWalt kit often goes on sale and includes more accessories. For a beginner, that might be a better deal. I'd go with DeWalt if you're on a budget.

Makita all the way! DeWalt is for wood, but Makita is a beast for metal. I've had mine for 5 years and it's still running like new. Buy once, cry once.
