Just had a close call with my Dremel. Was grinding a small burr off a pipe fitting, and a piece flew right at my safety glasses. Left a nice scratch. If I wasn't wearing them, that would've been my eye. Please, always wear eye pro with rotary tools, even for quick jobs.

Totally agree Paul. I learned that lesson the hard way with a wire wheel on a grinder – got a wire stuck in my cheek. Now I always wear a full face shield when doing anything with rotary tools. The dust is also nasty, so a respirator is a good idea too.

I never skip PPE. I even wear magnifying visors for detailed work – helps see the tiny bits and keeps my eyes safe. What type of safety glasses do you guys recommend? I've had issues with fogging when I'm sweating.

For anti-fog, I use the 3M SecureFit with anti-fog coating. For heavy grinding, I switch to a face shield. Also, don't forget hearing protection – those little rotary tools scream at high RPM. Tinnitus is no joke.

Good point about hearing – the Dremel at 30k RPM is loud. I got some cheap foam earplugs that work great. And Dave, I use anti-fog wipes on my glasses, helps a bit. Stay safe out there guys.
