Found a Dremel 4300 for $50 - too good to be true?

Hey guys, just snagged a Dremel 4300 kit at a garage sale for $50. Came with the variable speed foot pedal and like 30 bits. Box looked barely opened. Is this a solid deal or am I missing something? I'm mostly a garage gearhead - use my rotaries for porting intakes and cleaning up welds.

Hell yeah Steve, that's a steal! The 4300 is legit - I've got one on my worksite for quick cuts and grinding. The collet system is way better than the old 4000. That foot pedal alone is $40 new. Check the bearings though - spin it by hand, should be smooth. If it's good, you saved like $150.

Man, I paid $120 for my 4300 on sale last year. You lucky duck. My only complaint is the power switch placement - I hit it by accident sometimes. But for $50? No brainer. Just make sure the EZ Twist nose piece isn't stripped. Use it for sharpening my lawn mower blades and cutting tile - works like a champ.

Good to know, Bob. I gave it a spin and bearings feel tight. Foot pedal works too. Hank, I'll watch for that switch. Thanks for the heads up. Now I just need to find a good use for it this weekend. Maybe port that carb intake I've been putting off.

If you're porting intakes, grab some carbide burrs - the Dremel stones wear out fast on aluminum. Also, keep the RPM low or you'll melt the plastic. Post some pics when you're done!
