Picked up a Dremel 4300 for $60 – steal or scam?

Just grabbed a Dremel 4300 at a garage sale for $60. It looks barely used, comes with the case and a bunch of bits. I already have a cheapo rotary tool, but this seems like a major upgrade. Anyone know if this model is worth it? Or should I flip it?

Dude, that's a solid deal. The 4300 is one of the best consumer rotary tools out there – variable speed, EZ change collet, and the motor is smooth as butter. I've had mine for 3 years, no issues. For $60, I'd keep it and sell your old one. Brand matters with these things.

I'm a weekend warrior myself, and I've been eyeing a Dremel but can't justify full price. $60 is a steal if it works. I'd say test it out on some wood or plastic first. If it runs quiet and doesn't overheat, you're golden. Worst case, you're out $60 – but I bet it's fine.

Before you plug it in, check the power cord for cracks and make sure the collet isn't seized. I've seen deals like this where the tool was abused. Also, wear safety glasses and a dust mask when testing – no telling what grit is caked on those bits. If it passes a safety check, you scored.

Thanks guys! I'll test it out today with PPE on. The cord looks mint, and the collet spins freely. I'll probably keep it – my old one is a no-name that vibrates like crazy. Appreciate the advice!
