Hey Tool Discount Club, looking to upgrade my rotary hammer for some heavy-duty concrete work. Torn between the Milwaukee 2712-20 and DeWalt DCH273B. Both get great reviews, but I want real-world feedback from folks who beat on these daily. Anyone using either for drilling anchors, chipping tile, or demo? Budget is around $400, need something that won't quit after a year. Thanks!

HVAC guy here - I've run the Milwaukee for 2 years drilling through block for vent mounts. Thing's a beast, never jams even with cheap bits. Only gripe is the vibration after 4 hours straight leaves my hands tingling. Buddy runs the DeWalt and says it's smoother but his chuck started wobbling after 8 months. For HVAC, Milwaukee all day.

Restoration specialist chiming in - we abuse both brands daily removing mortar and tile. DeWalt's anti-vib tech is legit for overhead work, but the Milwaukee eats through rebar like butter. Pro tip: get the Milwaukee if you're doing 1"+ holes regularly, but grab DeWalt's 3-year warranty if you're worried about longevity. Saw a refurb DCH273B on the club deals page last week.

Landscape architect perspective - we use DeWalt for setting stone anchors because it's lighter for all-day use. Milwaukee's extra power is overkill for our 1/2" holes. Both will handle concrete, but ask yourself: are you doing production drilling or occasional work? DeWalt's battery swaps faster when you're covered in mud. PS: neither like being left in the rain despite what the marketing says *eye roll*
