Anyone else rock a full-face mask for sanding?

Maybe I'm being overly cautious, but I started wearing a full-face respirator when sanding after a buddy got silicosis. He's on oxygen now. Is that overkill or what? I use a 3M half-mask with P100s normally, but for heavy stuff I go full-face.

Not overkill at all. I've got the Trend Airshield Pro and love it. Battery lasts all day and no fogging. Yeah it costs a bit but you can't put a price on lungs. Plus it looks badass lol.

Overkill? Maybe. But I respect it. I just use a dust mask and work outside when I can. Can't afford a fancy setup. I figure as long as I'm not in a cloud of dust it's fine. But maybe I should upgrade...

DrillMaster, I used to think the same, but trust me - those invisible particles are still there. I just got a cheap P100 half-mask from Harbor Freight for like $15 and it's night and day. You dont cough black stuff at the end of the day.

^^ This. Even a basic half-mask with the right filters is a game changer. The full-face is pro level but any PPE is worth it. Stay safe out there fellas.
