Billionaire tax in CA - good or bad for business?

Just saw this poll about that billionaire tax in California. Sounds like a lot of folks are worried it'll drive businesses out. I mean, I get taxing the super rich, but if it backfires and kills jobs, what's the point? What do you guys think?

Been in construction for 40 years. Seen a lot of taxes come and go. But when you start taxing wealth, not income, it gets tricky. The rich can move their money or themselves. I've seen businesses leave for Texas and Nevada. It's not just about taxes though, it's about regulations too. But this poll doesn't surprise me.

I'm all for making the rich pay their fair share, but this seems like it could hurt middle class jobs. My cousin works for a tech startup in SF, and they're already talking about moving to Austin. If the big guys leave, who's gonna buy our tools? Ha!

I live in CA and honestly, the cost of living is insane. If I could pick up my business and move, I might. But I've got family here. The poll shows people are scared, and where there's fear, there's usually some truth. I think they need to find a better way than just taxing the hell out of the rich.

Good points all around. It's a complex issue. I just hope they don't shoot themselves in the foot. Guess we'll see what happens.
