Hey everyone, saw this article about Californians being worried about that billionaire tax driving businesses away. I'm just a woodworker, but I wonder if this would affect the tool industry if companies like Festool up and left. What do you all think?

I mean, California's already a mess with taxes and regulations. If they chase out the big money, it'll hurt small businesses too. But honestly, most of these billionaires are in tech, not tools. Still, every little bit pulls the economy.

I'm just an apprentice, but I've seen prices go up on everything. If companies relocate, shipping costs rise, and we pay more. But also, if they 'flee', maybe the state will adjust? Seems like a scare tactic.

From my experience, when the tax climate gets hostile, manufacturers start looking elsewhere. But there's more to it than taxes. Skilled labor, infrastructure, suppliers - that's what keeps tool makers in the US. I'd worry less about a wealth tax and more about the cost of doing business overall.
