Found a great deal on a Festool sander, worth it?

So I was browsing Craigslist and found a Festool ETS EC 125/3 EQ sander for $300 barely used. Retail is like $450+. Seems too good to be true. Should I jump on it or is there a catch? I've always used my old Ridgid, but I've heard Festool is the holy grail for sanders.

Man, if it's legit, that's a steal! I've had my Festool for 3 years now and it's still smooth as butter. You'll notice the difference immediately - less vibration, better dust collection. Check the serial number and make sure it's not stolen or a knockoff. If it's real, grab it before someone else does!

I'll second what Carl said. I picked up a used one last year and never looked back. But Paul, you gotta check the pads and the velcro condition. If it's been used heavily, you might need to spend another $30 on a new pad. Still worth it though. Also, try to test it before you buy - bring a piece of wood and see how she runs.

Even if I'm not doing huge sanding jobs, I've been thinking about upgrading. I borrowed a Festool once and its like a precision instrument. But remember, you also need to factor in the cost of the Festool paper - it's not cheap. But if you're doing fine finishing work, man, it's night and day. I'd say go for it if it's in good shape.
