Found a Ridgid Orbital Sander at a Garage Sale - Worth It?

So I was at a garage sale this morning and saw a Ridgid R2600 orbital sander for $30. It looks barely used, with the original box and dust bag. I'm a newbie at woodworking, and I've been looking for a decent sander. Is this a good deal or should I pass? Any input would be appreciated!

For $30, that's a steal! I've used that model on job sites, and it's a solid worker. Even if it's used, as long as it runs smooth, you're good. I'd say grab it before someone else does. Just check that the pad spins without wobbling and that the hook-and-loop is still good. You'll definitely get your money's worth.

I agree with Larry, that's a great deal. I actually have the same one I got from a pawn shop for $20 (but I talked them down cause it was dirty). It's been through hell and back and still works. Just clean out the dust port and give it a little TLC, and it'll last you for years.

For $30, you're getting a bargain. Just make sure you get some good sandpaper, because the one that comes with it is usually meh.
