So I was at the local hardware store and saw they were clearancing out the DeWalt 20V Max random orbit sander (DCW210B, tool only). Tag said $89 but rang up at $60! I've been wanting a cordless sander for quick jobs, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Anyone have experience with this thing? I mostly do small furniture projects and don't want to deal with cords.

Dude, $60 is a steal! I've had that sander for about a year now and it's honestly one of my most used tools. The dust collection is decent if you hook up a vac, and the variable speed is nice. For furniture it'll be perfect - no cords to trip over. Just make sure you have a 5Ah battery or higher, otherwise you'll be swapping out batteries every 15 mins. But yeah, grab it!

I gotta disagree a bit. For $60 it's not bad, but I've heard the DeWalt random orbit sander has some vibration issues compared to the corded ones. I'd rather spend a little more on a corded Bosch or Festool for woodworking. But if you're doing small projects and want convenience, go for it. Just don't expect it to replace a full-size sander for big jobs.

Thanks guys! I already grabbed it, so I guess I'll see how it goes. Pete, I have a couple 4Ah batteries, hopefully that's enough. Larry, I hear ya but I hate tripping over cords haha. I'll post a review after I test it out on a table I'm refinishing.

4Ah should be fine for most jobs. Just keep an extra charged and you'll be golden. Let us know how it goes Tim!
