Hey guys, was at Home Depot in the clearance aisle and spotted a Bosch ROS20VSC random orbital sander marked down to $89. Normally it's like $150+ from what I've seen. It's the corded version, not cordless. Box was a little beat up but looks complete. I'm in the market for a new sander since my old DeWalt is on its last legs. Anyone have experience with this model? Is this a no-brainer or should I hold out for something better? Need it mostly for tile prep and smoothing out thinset ridges.

Dude, that's a steal if it works! I'm just an apprentice but my journeyman swears by Bosch sanders for finish work. He's got one similar and says the vibration control is way better than the cheaper brands. Only thing - check if it's missing any pads or dust bags in the box. Sometimes those get pilfered. Also, maybe see if they'll knock off another 10% if the box is damaged? Can't hurt to ask. For tile stuff, you'll want the variable speed for sure.

Steve, I've run that exact sander on commercial jobs for 3 years. Absolute workhorse. At $89, buy it yesterday. The dust extraction is decent with a vac hooked up - crucial for tile dust. Only gripe is the pad change system can be stiff when new, but it breaks in. Way better than the Ryobi junk. If it's complete, that's a pro-grade tool at DIY prices. Don't overthink it.

Thanks guys! Matt, good call on checking the contents - I'll open it at the store. Sid, that's the endorsement I needed. Gonna grab it on my lunch break tomorrow. Hopefully it's still there. Will report back if I score it. Appreciate the quick feedback!
