Hey Tool Discount Club fam! Just picked up the Dewalt 20V Max XR random orbital sander from the weekend sale - got it for 40% off with the club coupon! This thing feels solid in the hand, way better than my old corded one that sounded like a dying bee. Already charged up two batteries. What should my first project be? Thinking about refinishing our kitchen table, but open to suggestions! So pumped to put this baby to work!

Nice grab Rick! That Dewalt ROS is a workhorse - used one on a whole house drywall job last month. If you're breaking it in, start with something flat and simple like that table. Pro tip: don't go straight to 80 grit like most newbies - start with 120 for finish sanding, work your way down if you need to remove material. And for god's sake, keep it moving or you'll get swirl marks that'll haunt you. Let us know how the dust collection works on yours!

Ooh exciting! I got the same model last year when my old sander finally gave up after my basement drywall project. First thing I did was sand down some old patio furniture - perfect practice because if you mess up, it's just outdoor stuff! The variable speed is awesome for control. Watch out for the vibration though - my hands were tingling for hours after my first big session until I got the hang of lighter pressure. Post pics of whatever you choose!

Thanks for the tips guys! Betty - good call on starting with higher grit, I probably would have gone ham with 60 grit and ruined the table. Debbie - patio furniture is a great idea too! My wife's been wanting me to redo those Adirondack chairs... Maybe I'll do a test run on one chair first before tackling the kitchen table. The dust bag seems decent so far - only did a quick test on a scrap 2x4. Weekend project here I come!
