Hey y'all, stumbled on this article about preparing for concrete cutting in Georgia. Sounds like they're planning some big infrastructure projects. I'm just a weekend warrior, but I've done a few small slabs. What do you pros think? Is this something I could attempt with a decent saw? Here's the link: https://example.com

Pete, I skimmed it. Professional concrete cutting is a whole different beast. They're talking about rebar, post-tension cables, and diamond blades that cost more than my truck payment. For a DIYer, unless it's just a small curb or walkway, I'd stay away. Even with a good gas saw, you can get into trouble fast if you hit something. Leave it to the guys with the concrete saw trailers and insurance.

I have to agree with Sarah. I've renovated a bunch of basements and we sub out any cutting deeper than a couple inches. Dust control alone is a nightmare without the right vacuums. Plus, Georgia has some strict noise ordinances if you're in a neighborhood. Pete, stick to scoring and breaking with a sledge for your projects. Less risk, still fun.

Good points, both Sarahs. I figured it was more than I could handle. Guess I'll just watch the pros on YouTube for now. But hey, at least I know what to look for if I ever need to hire someone. Thanks!
