DeWalt vs Makita: Which circular saw for a DIYer?

Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a new circular saw and I'm stuck between DeWalt and Makita. I've used a cheap one for years and finally want to upgrade. Which brand do you think is better for a DIYer who does a lot of home projects? I don't need pro-level, but I want something that'll last. Any advice?
