Found a Dewalt DWE575 at 50% off - worth it?

So I was at the local hardware store today and saw a Dewalt DWE575 circular saw marked down from $199 to $99. I've been thinking about getting a new saw for a while, but I'm not sure if this is a good deal or if I should hold out for something better. I mostly do DIY stuff around the house, building shelves, cutting plywood, that sort of thing. Anyone have experience with this saw? Is it worth it at that price?

I've used that saw on jobsites. It's a solid saw for the price, but I'm a Makita guy myself. The DWE575 is decent, but the blade guard can be a bit finicky. At $99 it's a steal though. If you're just doing weekend warrior stuff, it'll last you a long time. Just make sure to get a good blade. I'd say go for it.

Yeah, I've got a DWE575 that I got for around $150 last year. It's worked great for my projects. I've cut through 2x4s and plywood without any issues. The dust blower is nice too. For $99, I'd snag it before someone else does. Just remember, it's a sidewinder, so the weight distribution is different from worm drive, but you'll get used to it.

For general use, grab a 24-tooth or 32-tooth combination blade. I've had good luck with Diablo blades. Also, check the blade alignment when you first get it – sometimes they're not set perfectly from the factory. A quick adjustment will save you some headaches. Good luck!
