Hey guys, I was browsing FB marketplace and found a Dewalt DW745 compact jobsite saw for $150. The guy says it's barely used, but the pics look clean. Retail is like $500+. Anyone have experience with this model? Should I jump on it or check for red flags?

Nice find! The DW745 is a solid saw, I have one in my collection. It's a great portable option. For $150, even if it has some wear, it's a steal. Just check the arbor for runout and make sure the fence locks square. Bring a square and test it. Also, ask why he's selling so cheap - could be stolen or defective.

I've restored a few of these. The DW745 is known for a plastic trunnion that can crack if dropped. Inspect the plastic parts carefully. Also, the motor brushes wear out, but those are cheap to replace. If everything looks good, $150 is a no-brainer. Even if you need to put $50 into it, you're still way ahead.

I'd be cautious. That saw can be had for around $300 on sale new. $150 is suspicious. Could be a scam. Ask to see it running, cut a board, check the blade alignment. If he refuses, walk away. But if it's legit, grab it quick. I love mine for small jobs.
