Georgia Concrete Cutting: Anyone Done This Before?

Just read this article about scheduling concrete cutting in Georgia. Sounds like a big job. I've done a few concrete cuts with my old Stihl saw, but never on that scale. Anyone here have experience with this? What kind of saw do you need for a job like that?

Yeah, I've done a couple of driveways and a sidewalk. For that size, you're looking at a walk-behind saw at least. I used a 20-inch blade, but for deep cuts you might need a 24 or even 30. Water supply is key though - keeps the dust down and the blade cool. Are you planning to do it yourself or hire out?

Just remember the safety aspect. If you're doing this, make sure you have the right PPE: ear protection, eye protection, and a dust mask or respirator. Concrete dust is nasty stuff. Also, check for any buried lines before you cut - call 811. And for a big job like that, I'd seriously consider a professional. Too many things can go wrong.

I say go for it! I love a good challenge. I cut a 10-foot trench for a French drain last year with a cheap saw and it worked fine. Just take your time and use a guide. But yeah, for that size, you'll definitely need a walk-behind. Maybe rent one if you don't want to drop cash on a good saw.
