Hey all, looking to upgrade my circular saw and torn between Milwaukee and DeWalt. I do mostly framing and deck work, need something that can handle daily abuse but not break the bank. Anyone have real-world experience with both? Heard Milwaukee has better battery life but DeWalt's blade guard is smoother. Thoughts?

As an apprentice, I've used both on sites. My journeyman swears by DeWalt - says the balance is better for long cuts. But personally, I like the Milwaukee Fuel model cuz it's lighter when you're up on ladders all day. DeWalt does feel more solid tho. Battery-wise, both last a full shift if you're not cutting concrete blocks lol.

HVAC guy here - we abuse saws cutting metal duct and strut. Milwaukee all day. Their brushless motor handles metal chips better, less overheating. DeWalt's dust blower clogs faster with metal shavings. Only downside: Milwaukee blades cost more, but they last. Pro tip: get the 6.5" model, fits in tight spaces.

Roofing contractor - we kill a saw every 2 years from pitch and heat exposure. DeWalt survives longer in direct sun, plastic holds up better. Milwaukee's rubber grips get gummy. But for pure cutting power in wet pressure-treated? Milwaukee wins. Choose based on your worst conditions. Both brands honor warranties if you register.
