12 Cool Gadgets for Handymen - Worth the Hype?

I skimmed through it. That auto-retracting tape measure is pretty sweet, but I already have one from Milwaukee. The laser level is nothing new either. The one that caught my eye is the screwdriver with interchangeable bits stored in the handle - that's a space saver. But I'd say half of these are things you already have or can get cheaper elsewhere.

Honestly, most of these are just overpriced versions of stuff I've been using for decades. The magnetic wristband is a good idea, but I just use a magnetic tray. And that 'smart' drill? More like a toy for weekend warriors. My old Makita still works fine, thanks. Save your money and invest in quality tools that last.

Whaddaya expect from a generic list? They're just trying to get clicks. The only thing that caught my eye was that impact driver with the built-in LED - good for dark spaces. But I'm a DeWalt guy, so I'll stick with my own. The rest is just the same stuff repackaged. Gimme a break.

I saw that article too. Some of those gadgets are actually on my wishlist, but not at those prices. I'd say wait for a sale or look for knockoff versions. The laser level might be worth the investment if you do a lot of hanging stuff. But yeah, that digital angle finder is basically a clinometer - you can get it for cheap at Harbor Freight.
