Alright folks, I'm torn between the DeWalt DCF887 and the Makita XDT16. Prices are similar, both have a ton of torque, but I need something that'll last on the job site. Any of you got experience with either? I'm leaning Makita cause of the smaller head, but my crew swears by DeWalt.

I've got the Makita and it's a beast. The assist mode really helps with precision driving, no stripping screws. Had it for 2 years, zero issues. But I've heard DeWalt's warranty is better. Depends on what you're doing, really.

Makita all the way. The ergonomics are killer, lighter weight makes a difference after a full day. DeWalt feels bulkier to me. Plus, the Makita battery platform is solid if you've got other tools down the line. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks guys! The assist mode on the Makita sounds useful, and lighter weight is a big plus. I think I'll go with the Makita. Appreciate the help!
