Harbor Freight 50% off – worth it? or junk?

Just saw the Harbor Freight coupon deals – up to 50% off and shipping from $6.99. Thinkin' about grabbing some new screwdrivers, but I've heard mixed reviews. What's everyone's take? Worth the drive or pass?

Larry, you gotta be selective. Some of their stuff is surprisingly decent for the price, especially the Pittsburgh Pro line. For screwdrivers, I'd say they're ok for light duty, but if you're doing serious work, invest in something better. I bought a set once and the tips stripped after a few uses. But for the price, you can't beat it if you're just starting out or need backups.

I'll second Hank. Their screwdrivers aren't top-tier, but check for safety – make sure the handles are comfortable and the tips fit properly. I've seen some where the tip doesn't seat well in the screw head, which can cause slipping and stripped heads. If you're gonna use them for electrical work, make sure they're insulated. But for general DIY, they're fine. Just don't expect them to last forever.
