Hey folks, starting a deck project next week and my old screwdrivers are shot. Need something that can handle treated lumber and won't strip out after a few uses. Any recommendations? Not looking to break the bank, but I want quality.

Go with Wera or Wiha. I've used Wera Kraftform for years on restoration jobs - they grip like crazy and the handles are ergonomic. Not the cheapest but they last. For decking, you'll want a set with square drive bits too.

Honestly, if you're just doing a deck, a good impact driver with bits might be better than manual screwdrivers. But if you're set on hand tools, I'll second Wiha - I've got their Precision set for cabinet work and they're awesome. Also, get a magnetic holder for screws.

Thanks guys! I already have an impact driver, but I like hand drivers for pilot holes and precision spots. Gonna check out the Wera set. Wendy, good call on the magnetic holder - hate dropping screws between deck boards!

One more tip: get a set with interchangeable shafts so you don't have to carry 15 drivers. Klein Tools makes a great multi-bit that I use for quick work. And don't forget to pre-drill on treated lumber - saves the driver and the wood.
