Safety tip: Never use a screwdriver as a chisel or pry bar!

Hey everyone, just wanted to share a quick safety tip that I see violated all the time on job sites. Never, ever use a screwdriver as a chisel or pry bar. I know it's tempting when you're in a pinch, but the tip can snap off and become a projectile, or the handle can break and cut your hand. I've seen it happen. Always use the right tool for the job. Stay safe out there!

100% agree. I've lost count of how many screwdrivers I've seen with mangled tips because someone used them to pry something. Not only is it dangerous, but it also ruins the screwdriver. Invest in a good pry bar and a set of chisels. Your hands (and your tools) will thank you.

Guilty as charged. I've used a flathead as a pry bar more times than I care to admit. Never had an accident, but I can see how it could happen. Thanks for the reminder, Steve. I'll try to be better about it. Any recommendations for a good mini pry bar that won't break the bank?

Good tip. I'd also add: always wear safety glasses when using screwdrivers, especially if you're working overhead or in tight spaces. Those little metal shavings can fly. And make sure your screwdriver handle isn't cracked or loose. A broken handle can lead to a nasty cut. Stay safe, folks!
