Hey all. So I was using my favorite Klein ratcheting screwdriver today (we all know which one lol) and trying to pry open a stuck paint can lid. Slipped and my hand went right into the blade. Now I gotta get stitches. ALWAYS wear cut-resistant gloves when using any screwdriver for something dumb like prying. It ain't worth it. Stay safe.

Man, that sucks. But tbh screwdrivers aren't pry bars. I learned that the hard way too but with an impact driver. I use mechanics gloves now even for basic stuff. Did you at least clean the wound good? Tetanus shot up to date?

Ouch. Sorry about that Tim. On the job site I see this all the time. Always use the right tool for the job. A flathead might look like a prybar but it isn't. Also, Tip: If you do have to use a screwdriver as a prybar, wrap it in electrical tape for grip and wear leather gloves. But still don't do it. Hope you heal quick.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I know it was stupid. I was just being lazy and didn't want to walk to the truck for the right tool. Lesson learned. I'm gonna pick up some better gloves tomorrow too. Any recommendations? I want ones that don't kill my dexterity.

I use the Mechanix Wear M-Pact. Good dexterity, knuckle protection. For cut resistance look for something with Kevlar but thinnish. I got a pair of Tillman gloves for welding that work great for this too. Just don't cheap out.
