Blood tests for Alzheimer's? How does that work?

Just saw this article about some new blood tests for Alzheimer's hitting South Korea. Sounds like they can help diagnose it earlier. But I'm no doctor - anyone here know much about this? Seems like it could be a game changer if it works.

Interesting stuff, but I'm always cautious about new medical tech. Reminds me of when they said those early COVID tests were foolproof. I'd wait for more peer-reviewed data before getting too excited. Safety first, right?

I read the article. The Precivity test measures amyloid beta and tau proteins in blood. It's not a DIY thing, but for doctors it could mean less invasive than spinal tap. Still, I wonder how precise it is? Accuracy matters when diagnosing something like Alzheimer's. Any neuroscientists here?

Sounds promising but probly gonna cost an arm and a leg. If it hits the US market, insurance might not cover it. My uncle got a hi-tech cancer test and it was thousands out of pocket. Not for us budget-minded folks.

Yeah, price is always the catch. But if it works, maybe it saves money in the long run by catching it early? I dunno, just a thought. Anyway, thanks for the input guys.
