Hey everyone, saw this article about construction stocks to research. Not exactly about tools but thought it might be relevant to some of you who invest or follow the industry. Here's the link: [link]. Summary: "Recent market analysis has highlighted a specific group of construction industry stocks that investors and industry observers should keep on their radar..." What do you all think? Anyone here into stocks? I'm just a weekend warrior but curious if this affects tool prices or availability.

Interesting share, Pete. I've been in the trades for 30 years and I've seen how construction stocks can be a bellwether for the economy. When stocks are up, it usually means more building, which means more demand for tools and materials. But it can also lead to price hikes. I remember back in 2005 when lumber prices skyrocketed. Anyway, I'll check out the article. Not sure if I'll invest though, I prefer to put my money into tools I can actually use.

Hey guys, I'm an apprentice so I don't have much money to invest, but I'm trying to learn. This article seems a bit generic? Like, it doesn't name specific stocks. I clicked the link and it's behind a paywall. Can anyone summarize the key points? Also, how do construction stocks affect us on the ground? Like, if a big construction company's stock goes up, does that mean more jobs for electricians? Just trying to connect the dots.

Thanks TorqueTom55, that makes sense. SparkySam169, I found a free summary somewhere else. Apparently the article mentions companies like Caterpillar, Deere, and some smaller ones. But yeah, paywalls suck. From what I gather, infrastructure spending and housing starts are driving optimism. As for jobs, I think it can trickle down to more projects, but it's not immediate. Maybe Tom has more insight?

Yeah, Sparky, it's not a direct line, but generally, when construction companies are busy, they hire more electricians, plumbers, etc. But it also depends on the type of construction. Commercial vs residential. Right now, there's a lot of government infrastructure money floating around, so that could mean more work for sparkies. But don't take financial advice from me, I'm just a home inspector who's seen a lot of shoddy wiring. 😉

Thanks Tom, that helps. I'll keep an eye on those companies. Maybe I'll buy a share of CAT just for fun. But first, I need to pay off my student loans. 😅
