DeWalt vs Makita Circular Saw: Which One Should I Get?

Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a new circular saw. I do mostly DIY stuff around the house, but I'm about to start a big deck project and want something reliable. I've been going back and forth between the DeWalt DWE575 and the Makita 5007MG. Any advice from you pros?

Both are solid choices, but for the money, I'd lean toward the Makita. I've had mine for years and it's never let me down. The magnesium base is light but tough, and the saw feels balanced. DeWalt is good too, but I've seen more motor issues in the long run. Plus, Makita's brake is a lifesaver when you're cutting all day. Just my two cents.

Yeah, the Makita is about a pound lighter. But honestly, either one will do the job. If dust is a big deal, you could rig up a shop vac to the Makita with an adapter – it's not hard. I wouldn't let that sway you. Go to the store and hold both – see which feels better in your hands. That's what it comes down to. And remember, blades matter more than the saw itself. Get a good Diablo blade and you'll be golden.
